About US
We technically grew up in the same suburb of Pittsburgh and first met back in middle school. We didn't really know each other for most of that time, as Bill spent most of his days outside (playing lacrosse and running cross country) and Amanda spent most of her days inside (playing in the orchestra and competing on the speech & debate team).
We reconnected a few years ago on Instagram, chatting about playoff hockey (back when the Penguins were actually in the playoffs), our dogs, and then eventually life, the universe, and everything in between. When the Penguins made an early exit in the first round, we realized we were both a bit sad to no longer have an excuse to chat with one another three nights a week. We met for happy hour on a Monday a few weeks later and ended up closing the place down. It was off to the races from there.
In the spring of 2024, we decided to take a trip to Europe to visit the places we each lived in our 20s. Bill popped the question on the side of a hiking trail in the Swiss alps, overlooking a ridiculously picturesque mountain range. Amanda said yes, and we spent the rest of the vacation sipping prosecco in rooftop terraces, piazzas, photo booths, and rose gardens -- and once from our old, dirty shoes.
We love the outdoors, and dabble in a whole series of hobbies ranging from hiking and camping (usually with our dog Ellie in tow), cooking (Amanda is a wizard with a long list of things from pasta to baking, and Bill is a master with a smoker and a pizza oven), traveling, reading books in a hammock, laughing to tears at movies we've seen a dozen times, skiing (Amanda) and snowboarding (Bill), running (Amanda, and recently Bill - evidence from running the half marathon in Louisville this year).
We are looking forward to a lifetime of adventures together, and celebrating a Pittsburgh Stanley Cup victory together, whether it be in 10 or 30 years.
